Clearance CIAM FAQ

We’re excited to share that Change Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management products have started migrating to our Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) tool. Single sign-on applications like CIAM facilitate secure account management and allow our customers to use the same login credentials across multiple applications.

Once users are logged in with their email address and password, they can easily toggle between applications from the masthead without signing into each application individually. With CIAM, system administrators can add, remove, and manage all user credentials in one centralized location making account management a breeze. Learn everything you need to know in this FAQ.

For more information on CIAM migration across Change Healthcare's Revenue Excellence products see this Community post as well as this toolkit for application administrators.

Q: How will we know when it’s time to move to CIAM?
A: Application administrators will receive thirty-day notice of their change date. Two weeks before the cutover, all users will receive a welcome email. This will give users seventy-two hours to set up their passwords and login. If any users did not set their passwords during this window the welcome email can be resent upon request. The non-CIAM login will be disabled two weeks after users receive their welcome email.
Q: How do I set up CIAM?
A: Use this guide to walk you through the steps.
Q: I share a login with a handful of individuals at my facility. Will we be able to continue that?
A: No, with CIAM each user will have their own unique username and password. Each user’s email address will serve as their username. The email address must be the same in CIAM and the Change Healthcare application. User profiles that share an email address or have a blank email address will not be able to log in until remedied. A list of duplicate email addresses is available upon request from the support team.
Q: What is a masthead?
A: Mastheads are visual elements used to access other Change Healthcare applications. In this case, the application name at the top left will have a drop-down which allows you to access other applications.
Q: Will the Clearance URL I have bookmarked remain the same?
A: No, you will need to update it to this format: https://Clearance.ChangeHealthcare.com/ClientName
Q: What is my client name?
A: Your client name is what users enter in the Client bar when on the Clearance login screen.
Q: Will the application timeout stay the same?
A: Yes, time-out sessions will remain the same at fifteen minutes for Clearance.
Q: How often will I be required to update my CIAM password?
A: Passwords must be reset every ninety days.
Q: What if a user doesn't receive a welcome email?
A: If you have previously set up a CIAM email/username and password you will not receive a welcome email. Use your existing CIAM email/username and password to log in to Ahi.
Q: What if a user is out of the office during the seventy-two-hour window?
A: A user can complete these tasks once they return to the office. Your site administrator may need to resend the welcome email to complete registration.
